After increasingly loud criticism, Borislav Mikhailov resigns as Bulgarian football boss.

Borislav Mikhailov has resigned as president of the Bulgarian Football Association after eighteen years. The 60-year-old announced this after a meeting of the management committee. Fan protests against him during the European Championship qualifier against Hungary in Sofia eventually even led to riots.

Critics have been calling for the resignation of the former Bulgarian national team goalkeeper for years. They blamed Michajlow (ex-FCZ), as a former head of the federation, for the current sorry state of Bulgarian football.
