The Swiss curlers led by Skip Yannick Schwaller have reached the semi-finals of the European Championships in Aberdeen after a dramatic decision.

The Genevans lost the last round-robin match against the Norwegians 4:6. They were now level with Sweden and Norway. In this group of three they were the best because of the coefficient of the so-called stone game that was kept throughout the tournament.
The Swiss would still have been eliminated from all direct encounters if the Scots had surprisingly lost their last match against the Finns, who were last in the intermediate rankings. The match was on edge until the Scots had the upper hand 8:7 in the extra end.
