Roman Mityukov improved his record in the 200m backstroke to 1:51.46 minutes at this year’s Swiss Short Course Championships in Uster. De Geneve improved the previous record, which he set a year ago in the 25m in Sion, by 1.28 seconds.
The 23-year-old law student has now become one of the best in the world in the 200 meter backstroke. Last July he won World Championship bronze in this discipline. In the 50 meter pool he needed 1:55.34 minutes. The difference between the short course and the long course is almost four seconds in the 200 meter backstroke. (SDA)
