“Investigation is ongoing”: this is how the SFV responds to the mysterious MeToo case

The mysterious MeToo case surrounding the women’s national team concerns the Swiss Football Association. Blick sent the SFV several questions. This is SFV’s answer:

“Both the facts and the legal situation were carefully examined before the separation of the affected employee. In this regard, we refer to our statement of October 6, 2023 (see below). Further clarification of the period between the incident and the report to the responsible authorities within our association is currently underway. For reasons of protection of those affected, we cannot provide further details.”

In the SFV’s October 6 statement, the SFV confirmed “that it had parted ways with an employee after being informed of an incident within the women’s national team at the end of September.” “The SFV informed Swiss Sport Integrity immediately after it became known and immediately withdrew the affected employee from the women’s national team. Statements were then requested from the parties involved. Due to what we believe was an unacceptable violation of the SFV’s core values, which are based on the Swiss Olympic Code of Ethics, the employment contract was terminated immediately before the scheduled start of the job. The employee denies the allegations and has announced that he will legally challenge the termination.” (web)
