Dwamena played for FC Zurich between 2017 and 2018.

“We were shocked and dismayed when we received news from Albania that former striker Raphael Dwamena collapsed and died on the pitch during a championship match for his club KF Egnatia on Saturday, November 11,” FC Zurich wrote on its social media website. about the surprising death of ex-striker Raphael Dwamena († 28). “Rest in peace Raphael. You will always be one of us!”

Dwamena has a special status among FCZ fans. The Ghanaian almost single-handedly shot Zurich back to the Super League after relegation with 18 points in 18 games.

When Dwamena was still playing for FC Zurich, he was called up to the Ghana national team due to his strong performances. The striker made his debut on June 11, 2017.
