This weekend, the German Football Association (DFB) separated from women’s national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (55). The DFB leaves the exact reasons open in its statement. No details are known about this from Voss-Tecklenburg either. The former Germany international does not wish to comment at this time.

Her husband Hermann Tecklenburg (75), on the other hand, tells ‘Bild’ more: “She leaves with one laughing and one crying eye. She is sad because she always wanted to become a national coach all her life.” On the other hand, she is satisfied with the solution to the problem. “A ballast has been taken away from her.”

Tecklenburg remains silent about his wife’s next steps. But maybe she’s using the free time to replenish her energy levels. Her husband himself proves this with a striking example: “The great Jupp Heynckes also took a two-year break after his period at Gladbach, and then coached FC Bayern again at the request of his friend Uli Hoeness. I think Martina wants to relax now.”
