How is Michael Schumacher doing?

It happened almost ten years ago, on December 29, 2013. Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher (307 Formula 1 GPs, 91 victories) had a serious accident while skiing in Méribel (Fr). The public still does not know what the health status of the now 54-year-old German is.

His children Mick (24, 43 Formula 1 GPs) and Gina-Maria (26) do not comment on this, nor does Schumacher’s wife Corinna (54). From a 2021 Netflix documentary, all we know is that they live at home together. “We are doing everything we can to make Michael feel better, to make him feel comfortable and to make him feel our family, our connection,” Corinna Schumacher said on camera.

Now Michael’s brother Ralf Schumacher (48, 180 Formula 1 GPs, six wins) gives insight into how he feels about the whole situation. “Unfortunately, life is sometimes not fair,” he tells the magazine “Bunte”. About the accident and its consequences, he says: “We have to accept it.”

He is happy that his niece and nephew are going their separate ways despite the heavy blow of fate. “When I see his children Gina-Maria and Mick, my heart smiles,” says Ralf Schumacher. The solidarity is great. He emphasizes: “If anyone in the family seeks my advice, I am there.” In doing so, he makes it clear that such a difficult situation can only be overcome together. (beer)
