Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer apparently has to wait longer to return to the German football team. As “Sport Bild” reports, the 37-year-old is not expected to be nominated for the international break in November.
Julian Nagelsmann’s DFB team will play against Turkey in Berlin on November 18 and against Austria three days later in Vienna.
Neuer’s last of 117 international matches was the 4-2 victory in Qatar’s World Cup group match against Costa Rica on December 1 of the previous year, when Germany sensationally failed in the preliminary round. After breaking his lower leg, the 2014 world champion was represented by Marc-André ter Stegen, who is currently on pole position for the 2024 European Home Championships.
Neuer made his comeback last Saturday in the spectacular victory against Darmstadt after a break of 331 days in the competition. (AFP/dti)
