In a completely surprising manner, Norwegian slalom champion Lucas Braathen (23) announced his retirement from the World Cup on Friday. He wants to be free – but that is simply not possible with the current structures in the ski circus. The dismissal, although accompanied by bitter tears, was a liberation for the young Norwegian.
