Under Ronaldo’s eyes: Fury narrowly wins a practice fight

World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (35) has a tough time against former UFC athlete Francis Ngannou (37) in an exhibition boxing fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Brit ultimately wins by a small margin according to the jury’s decision (96:93, 95:94, 94:95).

“That was one of the most annoying fights in recent years for me,” Fury said after the fight against his Cameroon-born opponent. “Franciscus is a better boxer than we all thought.”

Ngannou, once world heavyweight champion of the mixed martial arts organizer UFC, even hit Fury with a left hook in the third round during his debut as a boxer. The undefeated world champion is recovering from the heavy blow.

Countless celebrities at the ring

And all this under the eyes of countless prominent spectators. At the ring are the footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané, the MMA star Conor McGregor, the American rappers Kanye West and Eminem and some boxing legends such as Evander Holyfield and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Fury will soon return to the ring in Saudi Arabia. Shortly before Christmas or in January he will face the Ukrainian Alexander Usyk (36) for the title unification fight.
