Schalke 04 said goodbye to coach Frank Kramer after only thirteen competitive games. The club dismissed Kramer after the tough elimination against Hoffenheim in the German Cup tournament (5:1). Kramer took over from interim coach Mike Büskens in June.
He led the Royal Blues back to the Bundesliga after a season in the second division. Schalke is second to last in the league after ten games.
The club from Gelsenkirchen has been dissatisfied with his choice of coach since Dominic Tedesco resigned in March 2019. Tedesco was still on the bench for 75 mandatory duels, but his seven (interim) successors, including Huub Stevens, never lasted more than 40 duels.
For Kramer, it is his second layoff this calendar year. In April, 50-year-old Kramer was also fired by Arminia Bielefeld.
