The decision was unconventional: EHC Kloten voluntarily played only three or four foreigners because they decided not to use Lucas Ekestahl-Jonsson. The Swedish defender had to go to the stands for two games. According to sporting director Larry Mitchell, eight defenders preceded him in performance.

Ekestahl-Jonsson does not comment on the fact that sporting director Mitchell has not publicly included him among the top 8 defenders. But somehow it tries to be understanding. “I only had one point on my account.” Therefore, he focused on working hard on himself. And after playing two matches he comes to the clear conclusion: “I have proven that I deserve this place.” Which he now hopes to keep.
