Viktorija Golubic managed to return to the top 100 of the world rankings at the Challenger tournament in Rouen, France. The 30-year-old from Zurich will enter the final, just like last year, with a 7:5, 6:4 against the Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (WTA 100) and will thus improve the rankings by at least nine positions from 105th place.
Golubic’s opponent for the tournament victory on Sunday (3 p.m.) is Erika Andrejewa (WTA 166). She defeated the 19-year-old Russian in two close sets at the same venue a year ago before losing to Belgium’s Maryna Zanevska in the final. (SDA)
