According to a media report, captain Manuel Neuer will return to the Bayern goal shortly after the international break. As the television channel Sky reported on Monday, he should be back between the posts “at the latest” on October 28 in the home match against newly promoted Darmstadt 98. The 37-year-old is not expected to sit on the bench initially.
Neuer broke his leg after the World Cup debacle in December last year and has been out since. At the start of the month, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said Neuer’s recovery was progressing well.
