Good news from the Kostelic family. As the Croatian ‘Story’ reports, former world-class skier Janica Kostelic (41) has become a mother for the second time.

Her brother Ivica Kostelic (43) confirms the baby’s happiness to the magazine. However, the 2003 slalom world champion does not reveal more details. It is not known when the baby was born and whether it is a girl or a boy.

Private life is private

It is the second child for Janica Kostelic. Their son Oscar was born on New Year’s Day 2019. Furthermore, hardly anything is known about the private life of the Croatian ski icon. She usually keeps this out of the public eye. “I never sought media attention, so my life should be much easier now,” Kostelic said in 2007, when she ended her skiing career at the age of 25.

Her record is still impressive. She won 30 World Cup races and was one of only seven riders to triumph at least once in each of the five individual disciplines (slalom, giant slalom, downhill, super-G and combined).

Won gold nine times

She was the first Croatian athlete to reach the podium at the Winter Olympics. She won Olympic gold four times and World Cup gold five times and won the overall World Cup three times (2000/01, 2002/03 and 2005/06).
