There is something concrete again in the dispute about FC Luzern. And the message has it all. The city of Lucerne wants to take the Swissporarena from Bernhard Alpstaeg. In a press release on Tuesday morning, she announced that she had taken legal action for the early repossession of the Swissporarena. Accordingly, the stadium would be wrested from Alpstaeg’s hands and returned to the municipality.
“The city council has become aware that FCL Holding AG was not granted a purchase right in accordance with the construction contract when transferring shares in Stadion Luzern AG in 2018 and 2019,” the city wrote. For this reason, at the beginning of July she informed Stadion AG, which manages Alpstaeg, about this and reminded them of compliance with their obligations under the construction contract.
In the same letter, the city “duly” asked Alpstaeg to demonstrate in detail how the shares were transferred with regard to the purchase rights. Alpstaeg and Stadion AG had until September 24. However, only insufficient documents have been received from Alpstaeg, which is why the city is now forced to take this legal step.
As the municipal council writes, it continues to strive for consultation and an amicable settlement.
