The Leipzig Bulls trotted off the field angrily during halftime in Wankdorf on Tuesday evening. YB had harassed, irritated and incited the top Bundesliga team after falling behind early (3rd minute) – the Bernese team then hit back with Elia’s equalizer (33rd minute). There was a lot of talking to do in the Leipzig dressing room. “Everyone gave their opinion, it was stable, I like that,” says Swede Emil Forsberg (31).

The heated Bulls had to let off some steam at halftime. “We were dissatisfied, angry and knew that this was not our game,” says Xaver Schlager (25). The scorer for Leipzig’s renewed lead (2-1 in the 73rd minute) gives an insight into the dressing room: “It got loud. Everyone was talking about what was wrong.”

A response was needed

After the discussion, RB took control of the match again and won 3-1. “I am happy and proud of the reaction during half time,” said a relieved Forsberg after Leipzig’s opening victory. The man who eliminated Switzerland five years ago with his winning goal for Sweden in the European Championship round of 16 – just like his teammates and his coach – has a lot of praise for YB: “They are really good and many will still have problems here. ”
