The Swiss sports channel Blue receives reinforcement: former German footballer Valentina Maceri (30) joins the cast around presenter Roman Kilchsperger (53) for the new Champions League campaign. In the future, the duo will lead the Premier League evenings together.
“As a player I had the great pleasure of walking into the stadium with the Champions League anthem. That remains unforgettable. Now I am back in the Champions League with Blue Sport – although no longer on the pitch, but off the pitch,” Maceri said in a press release.
Maceri has made a name for himself in German sports journalism in recent years. After her active career, which she spent at 1. FC Nürnberg and the Italian club Bardolino, she reported on sporting events as a journalist for Sport1, “Kicker”, “Bild” and most recently DAZN.
Blue’s management is happy with the new acquisition: “The chemistry between Roman and Valentina is right, I am sure that they, together with our top experts, will surprise our audience,” says Chief Product Officer Claudia Lässer.
Maceri will make her debut on September 19. Then the Young Boys start their Champions League campaign with a home match against RB Leipzig. (sbe)
