Nati director Tami disputes Xhaka’s vortex: ‘Players are responsible for the quality of training’

The day after, Nati director Pierluigi Tami (61) faces the media. “I don’t want to put too much weight on it,” he says when asked about Xhaka. “I saw the moment when he said that.” He definitely understands because it was very emotional for him. Although emotions can be discussed after the final whistle, serious analysis is not possible. “It’s better if the player talks about his own performance,” says Tami.

Xhaka and Yakin both have strong characters, so there may be disagreements. He assumes that the two will discuss the whole matter calmly. When asked whether there are consequences for Xhaka, the Nati director dodges the question. “For me it is not a problem if there are different opinions,” he says.
