Napoli have recorded their tenth straight win (all competitions). The Serie A leaders, who were 4-2 ahead of Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday, had their hands full at home against Bologna but won 3-2.
Napoli started strong but Khicha Kvaratschelia, Giacomo Raspadori, Mário Rui (lat.) and Politano Politano missed opportunities to put the home side ahead. Just before half-time, Bologna’s first shot on target resulted in an immediate goal. Joshua Zirkzee found the net after a great attack.
Four minutes later, Juan Jesus had already repaired the damage. After the break, Hirving Lozano quickly made it 2-1 from the rebound, but goalkeeper Alex Meret made a mistake three minutes later when Musa Barrow shot to make it 2-2. Victor Osimhen nevertheless gave Napoli a deserved victory.
AC Milan followed in Napoli’s footsteps with a narrow win at low-flying Hellas Verona (1-2). Miguel Veloso unintentionally put the national champions 1-0 down after working a Rafael Leão cross into his own goal.
Fortunately, Koray Gunter equalized after 19 minutes after his shot was deflected by Matteo Gabbia. Sandro Tonali gave Milan the final victory in the 81st minute after a nice cross from Ante Rebic.
Earlier in the day, Internazionale recorded a 2-0 home win over Salenitana thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella. At Inter, Stefan de Vrij played the whole game and Denzel Dumfries was substituted just before the end.
