Marcelli wins power with the second place in Italy

Rosaleiro consolidates his third place in the overall ranking of the World Cup

Gabriel Marcelli arrives on summer vacation with a smile from ear to ear. After suffering at the Italian Grand Prix of the TrialGP World Championship on Saturday, he took second place on Sunday, right behind his teammate Tony Bowwhich is imposed with great sufficiency. grattarolaRosaleiro’s great rival, finished in fifth position and now leads him with a total of 18 points.

In the seventh round of the season in the small town of Sestriere, Marcelli repeated his best position of the entire season, the second one he achieved already in San Marino. The Honda Repsol rider, who logged 4 hours and 13 minutes in his journey, concluded his participation with 18 penalty points, a card that could only be surpassed by champion and team-mate Toni Bou, who finished with nine final points. Gabriel made five less than Adam Raga, who was in charge of completing the podium.

Furthermore, in the fight for third place in the overall standings, Marcelli increased his advantage over Matteo Grattarola, who could only finish fifth this time.

For his part, Jorge Casales from Vigo ended his performance in Italy with 75 penalty points in eighth place, and he arrives at the summer break seventh overall with a total of 107 points, far from the podium.

Marcelli did not hide his enthusiasm for the result in Italy: “I had a good first lap, but the second was particularly good. I managed to reduce positions almost without error. The feeling with the bike at the end was brutal, so we can go to rest very calm,” commented Rosaleiro, who also managed to overcome the emotional part: “I knew I had to ride the second lap well. I managed to get rid of the nerves, the pressure, and I think that allowed me to drive at the level I really have”, he concluded.

The Trials World Cup now takes a breather and there will be no testing during the month of August, but there will be the first weekend of September, days 2 and 3, when the final outdoor event of the season will take place.

The event that will give way to the closed modality, which started in the first quarter of the year and will face its outcome from October 7 in Andorra. Then there are the meetings between Madrid and France, which are scheduled for November 11, and this will mark the end of the course.
