Marlen Reusser (31) and Elise Chabbey (30) are 13th and 16th in stage 2 of the Tour de France Femmes.
After a demanding 151 kilometers with six mountain classifications and sometimes heavy rain showers from Clermont-Ferrand to Mauriac, the two Swiss women reach the final phase with the leading group, but do not fight for victory in the finish. Reusser secures the maximum points in the final mountain classification with just over a kilometer to go.
The German Liane Lippert won the stage in the sprint ahead of Reusser’s Belgian teammate Lotte Kopecky and the Italian Silvia Persico. After her solo victory on Sunday, Kopecky remains in the lead in the general classification, her lead over Lippert is 49 seconds. (SDA)
