Tour de France winner: Vingegaard surprises with Vuelta effort

class=”sc-29f61514-0 fQbOYE”>

Denies a second Grand Tour this year: Jonas Vingegaard.

Jonas Vingegaard will participate in the Vuelta this year. The 26-year-old Dane will compete in Barcelona on August 26 with teammate Primoz Roglic, who won this year’s Giro d’Italia. With the two top riders, the Dutch team Jumbo-Visma also has good prospects for victory in the third Grand Tour of the year.

With Vingegaard’s participation in the Tour of Spain, European time trial champion Stefan Bissegger’s chances of winning the day and the red leader’s jersey are also diminishing. The 1st stage is a test against the clock.

A winner of the Tour de France rarely competes in two three-week races in one year. On the other hand, it has long been clear that Vingegaard will miss the World Cup in Glasgow at the beginning of August. (SDA)
