At the Athletissima in Lausanne, hurdle sprinter Jason Joseph missed out on his first Diamond League win at the end of June in the absence of the strong Americans and Jamaicans. On the European Continental Tour, however, the bidder from Basel shows what he can do in Madrid.
With a time of 13.10 seconds with a light wind at his back, he beats the strong Europeans Belocian (Fr) and Llopis (Sp). In doing so, he equaled his own Swiss record, which he set in Florence at the beginning of June.
In a week Joseph will be ready for the Swiss championships in Bellinzona. Will he manage to break the 13 second barrier for the first time without an opponent?
By the way: Salomé Kora finished fifth in Madrid in 11.31 seconds over 100 meters. (cs)
