Although Naef lost to Alizé Cornet (WTA 68) 6:1, 3:6, 8:10 after winning the set, Riedi then turned the tide against Richard Gasquet (ATP 49) with a 3:6, 6:3, 10:8. In the decisive doubles match, Naef/Riedi defeated Cornet/Gasquet 6:4, 7:5. They used the first game ball on 73 minutes after the French missed two balls to equalize the set when the score was 5:3.
Naef and Riedi were thus able to follow in the footsteps of Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic, who won the last games in 2018 and 2019 before the traditional mixed competition was temporarily suspended.
Your opponents in the final will only be announced on Saturday. It’s either Spain with Carlos Alcaraz and Paula Badosa, or Croatia or Belgium. (SDA)
