Racing thrash Galicia de Mugardos, (0-4)

Racing beat Galicia de Mugardos 4-0 in the first pre-season test, a friendly at A Pedreira, in Mugardos, to pay tribute to the club celebrating its seventieth anniversary. The match was fun, four goals were scored, and Racing left a good feeling in the second half. Mugardos’ Galicia held on well in the first half and suffered in the second half to stop the Ferrol team. He didn’t score, although he had some good dangerous moves to open up his keeper.

Racing started the match with the eleven from last season, and the only novelty is Iker Losada in the attack. In addition, Jesús Bernal had to play at right back. In the first minutes, Racing lacked precision in passing and success in the last meters. Mugardos’ Galicia, led by Stili, was a well-established team on the pitch, defending in order, without much difficulty.

Manu Justo missed a big chance at the beginning of the game, and Iker Losada missed another big chance. However, after 18 minutes it was 0-1, after a good play by Brais Martínez’s team, which Manu Justo finished in the box.

The score did not change until the break, although Racing had a chance to increase their lead on the scoreboard.

In the second half, both teams made changes. Goalkeeper Bernard joined Racing, as did Nacho, Señé and Chuca. In addition, Jon García continued to play at right back and Manzanara at central defense.

Racing dominated in the second half and came more than in the first half. Little by little, Mugardos found it increasingly difficult to get the ball for defense. After 69 minutes of the game, Fran Manzanara scored the second goal for Racing after a great header, and a few minutes later Iker Losada scored the third for Ferrol. Manzanara scored the fourth in another precise shot, again with a header, after a corner kick by Iker Losada.

Basically, despite having in front of them a rival from the Regional Preferred Division, who has not yet started training (will do so on August 1), the Ferrolans left a good impression, especially the very active Iker Losada and Fran Manzanara with two goals with headers.
