The Dane finished off Pogačar, who gave up almost six minutes at the finish line

Austrian Felix Gall culminated at the finish of Courchevel, the last alpine stage of the Tour de France, long break by achieving the most important victory of his career, while The Dane Jonas Vingegaard secured the victory on the Tour after the collapse of the Slovenian Tadej Pogačar.

Spaniard Carlos Rodríguez moved away from third place after to give up 1.11 in relation to the British Adam Yates, in the absence of a big mountain stage.

But the news was the Pogacara bird, winner of the 2020 and 2021 editions, who, one day after losing 1.38 in the time trial, collapsed on the Col de la Loze climb and crossed the finish line with more than 5 minutes behind the yellow shirt, which he now has at 7.35.

The 24-year-old rider from the United Arab Emirates bowed out of contention to win his third Tour and at one point ordered his team to work for Yates to finish third in Paris.

The Briton did his homework and established himself on the podium, where he now has a difference of 1.16 compared to Rodríguez, who did not keep up with the best on the climb to Loze, although he burdened his team on the first ramps of that port.

The 22-year-old Ineos cyclist conceded third place to Yates in this Tuesday’s time trial, and in the final Alpine stage he was a little further back.

The stage win went to Tour debutant Gall, 25, who was third in the first Pyrenean stage, which ended in Laruns, and who distanced himself from the rest of the escapees on the Col de la Loze on the final day, crowning him with the lead before embarking on a frantic descent to the stage 17 finish.
