Jordan Henderson transfers from Liverpool to Al-Ettifaq.

The list of players who have already switched from Europe to Saudi Arabia is long. Cristiano Ronaldo (38), Karim Benzema (35), N’Golo Kanté (32), Roberto Firmino (31) and many more have already answered the call for money. And the end is not yet in sight. Other top stars are already approaching.

Liverpool FC has been particularly hard hit. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Jürgen Klopp loses his captain Jordan Henderson (33) to Al-Ettifaq. The Reds received around 13 million euros for the veteran, who played 492 games for the club.

Henderson meets another Liverpool legend at Al-Ettifaq. The team from the port city of Dammam has been coached by Steven Gerrard (43,504 games for Liverpool) since this summer. Gerrard earns around 17 million euros a year, making him one of the four highest paid coaches in the world.

Many from the Premier League

With Fabinho (29), The Reds could also lose another midfielder to the Saudis. According to the “Mirror”, the Brazilian is in the final stages of negotiations with Al-Ittihad. There he would become teammates of both Kanté and Benzema.

Al-Hilal is also said to be poaching in the Premier League. According to The Guardian, the club from the capital Riyad wants to get Romelu Lukaku (30) from Chelsea. The beefy striker has no future at Stamford Bridge and a return to Inter Milan is a long way off. The Saudis would reward the Belgian prince with 51 million euros per year.

Mahrez and Pogba teammates soon?

Meanwhile, Riyad Mahrez (32) makes a second attempt. The Algerian from Manchester City already had it with Ronaldo club Al-Nassr, but rattled through the medical check. Now it should be Al-Alhi calling 28 million euros a year. According to Romano, the deal is already done.

In midfield, the club also wants to strengthen itself with Paul Pogba (30). According to “Gazzetta dello Sport”, the Frenchman, who is unlikely to have a future at Juventus, has an offer of 100 million euros for three years.

So the Saudis continue to flex their million-dollar muscles and remain the main character of the transfer summer. And because the transfer window in the desert state is open until mid-September (20 days longer than in Europe’s top leagues), other well-known players are likely to join. (byl)
