Flawilerin takes a break: Belinda Bencic cancels participation in Lausanne

Belinda Bencic has to take a break because of her right arm.

Bencic announced on social media that she would be taking a little break after her round of 16 at Wimbledon against world number one Iga Swiatek. “I was very happy with my condition and level of tennis at Wimbledon. But my right arm has been bothering me for the last two matches,” the Olympic champion wrote.

In addition to the home tournament, Bencic will also skip this week’s Hopman Cup to allow the injury to heal properly. She hopes to be back in Washington by the end of this month for the start of the US tour. (SDA)
