“Our hearts are filled”: Slalom world champion has become papi

The ski family continues to grow. A few weeks after compatriot Kjetil Jansrud (37), the next Norwegian can look forward to offspring. World slalom champion Henrik Kristoffersen (29) and his girlfriend Tonje Barkenes have become parents.

“Our hearts are filled and we are full of pride.” With these words, the two share their happiness with the whole world. They also post a photo on Instagram in which they frame their son’s hand with their hands. As the two further reveal, Emil Henrik Kristoffersen was born on July 14.

Kristoffersen and Barkenes have known each other since school and became a couple in 2016. Now her son crowns their shared happiness.

Allusion to the slalom of the World Cup

Shortly after they posted the message on social media, the first reactions came from the ski circus. In addition to Jansrud from Norway, Atle Lie McGrath, Timon Haugan and Aksel Lund also congratulate Svindal, who will soon become a father himself. Other ski stars such as the Austrian Marc Digruber or the Swiss Loïc Meillard should not miss it and respond to the post.

Among the benefactors are also the social media managers of Kristoffersen’s ski brand Van Deer. “We are so happy for you,” they write. “It will be even more exciting than the second round in Courchevel.”

They allude to the World Cup slalom in mid-February. Kristoffersen was then only 16 after the first run, but then he conjured up a dream run in the snow and eventually became world champion.
