This does not mean that there is no self-criticism, and Serodio does not hide his concern about the latest results: «At the last regattas, we did not manage to reach the level we have at the regattas. For some nerves, everything or the environment is strange, but this week we hope to take a step forward».

He attributes this setback to the mental part and the pressure that came on the team from the environment: «On a psychological level, it will affect us all. In the last few weeks, in training, we have seen the decentralization of the team, and it seems that the middle has started to create stress and pressure, which prejudiced us in that way. It is first of all a mental problem, we know how to row a boat and for a very long time we have been where our right level is», commented the coach without a hair on his tongue and convinced that everything will change this weekend in Bilbao, this afternoon (17:25)and tomorrow in Orio (11.25).

Another aspect is the lack of experience. «We only have two or three girls who were in the ACT league or stayed from here, from the area, xente moi nova». The rest of the team is also very young, with an average of between 17 and 22 years old and a couple of veterans in their thirties, although none of them are mothers.

Having a guaranteed category, Serodio is betting on rotations and that all rowers have their chances, without focusing on a fixed block bet: «We know that we will not lose the category and all the followers are rowing to gain experience and progress, that everyone can participate and everyone is involved.».

However, one of the dangers can be discouragement if the results do not improve, so they want to take a step forward as soon as possible: «Okay, we’ve been talking since the beginning, but everyone likes to compete in regattas. We are very behind and that is something we do not like, but we want to raise the level of the ship. He can win, but for a few seconds ». This afternoon will be the first opportunity to apply.
