Is summer suddenly going very fast? Italian media report that the deal will be finalized at the end of this week.

Major development in advertising for national goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34)? In Italy, a transfer from FC Bayern Munich to Inter Milan is reported to be completed this week.

According to the “Gazzetta dello Sport”, Inter wants to avoid having to do part of the preparation without having to play number one. As André Onana’s (27) move to Manchester United for 60 million is almost complete – final details are to be clarified on Thursday – the summer deal should also be in its final stages.

Does Bayern end up in the goalkeeper’s dilemma?

From circles of the national keepers, Blick is told that a decision will be made in the next two weeks. That does not rule out an early Inter substitution. But staying at Bayern is apparently not off the table just yet. In fact, there are still one or two hurdles ahead of the move to Serie A.

The simplest variant: Sommer’s release clause. That should be about six million francs, but there was also talk of eight to nine million. Inter probably hopes to negotiate a transfer with bonus payments, so that the base amount is lower.

In addition to the amount, the clause also contains as conditions that Manuel Neuer becomes number 1 again at Bayern and that Sommer and the club agree. Then nothing stands in the way of a transfer.

But is Bavaria really ready to let go of summer? When and how strong Manuel Neuer will return is still uncertain, even though he is now starting preparations.

That is why the name Giorgi Mamardashvili (22) appears in the Bayern business games. According to TV channel Sky, the young Georgian, who has just shown his great potential with a strong performance at the U21 European Championship, could become the new long-term successor. Problem: Mamardashvili has a contract with Valencia that runs until 2027 with a €100 million escape clause. A transfer can be correspondingly complicated.

Inter would force a goalkeeper duel

After Xherdan Shaqiri in 2015, Sommer would be the second Swiss to move from Munich to Milan. Will Sommer be happier at Inter than his Nati colleague? Shaqiri left Milan after eight months.

The summer probably won’t be the same, but there won’t be a permanent place for him either: in addition to the summer deal, Inter also plans to sign young Ukrainian Anatoly Trubin (21) from Shakhtar Donetsk for around ten million. The talented youngster is expected to present a goalkeeping challenge in goal and will be number one in the long run. (dti)
