Much has been written and speculated about the future of Granit Xhaka (30) in recent weeks. Now the change of the captain of the national team is complete. The midfielder leaves Arsenal after seven years and returns to the Bundesliga. Xhaka will play for Bayer Leverkusen from next season.

Xhaka has signed a five-year contract with Leverkusen. Arsenal received compensation of more than 28 million francs. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal was already completed in May. However, it took The Gunners to sign Declan Rice before the move to Xhaka was greenlit.
