Blick takes care of the holiday overview: the national stars enjoy their holiday

Several matches with the club, the European Championship qualifier and the Winter World Cup in Qatar. A monster season came to an end for the football players. Our national stars have more than earned their summer holidays here. And they got the fans involved through social media.

The most successful season is behind Manuel Akanji (27). The central defender won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble in his first season with Manchester City. He is only the second Swiss to achieve this feat.

Akanji spends his holidays in Puglia, Italy. He posts photos with his eldest son Aayden (3) on Instagram.

Nati regular goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34) shares photos of a fantastic beach on his Instagram profile. The Bayern player poses smiling with diving equipment. However, he does not reveal the location of the photo.

Meet the stars in Xhaka

Captain Granit Xhaka (30) is still in the middle of the transfer madness. His move to Bayer Leverkusen is expected to take place this week. He still takes holidays with him: the midfielder is staying with his family in the Turkish city of Belek.

Football is not neglected during the holidays either: with players like Kyle Walker, Antonio Rüdiger, Hakan Calhanoglu, Edin Dzeko and many more, there is a “fun game” in Turkey (see video above).

Together in Greece

Greece seems to be one of our Nati stars’ favorite destinations this summer. With Fabian Schär (31), Eray Cömert (25), Gregor Kobel (25) and Ruben Vargas (24), four players spend their summer holidays there.

While Schär is on a love holiday with girlfriend Alexandra Münger in Mykonos, Vargas and Kobel travel together. The two Bundesliga players post a photo on Instagram in which they can be seen laughing by the pool.

And Eray Cömert, who posts photos from the Greek island of Zakynthos, seems to have met Vargas by now. In his Instagram story, Vargas and Cömert can be seen playing “Tuc Tuc” on the beach.

Lotomba swims with dolphins

In contrast, Djibril Sow (26) and Jordan Lotomba (24) made another outing. They are relaxing in Mexico. Frankfurt-Star Sow shares photos of the beach town of Playa del Carmen on the Mexican Caribbean coast.

Meanwhile, Nice actor Lotomba shows himself to be an animal lover. He posts a photo on Instagram of a dolphin kissing him on the cheek. “Mexican dolphins,” he writes.

Okafor in Ibiza, Omlin at home

Noah Okafor (23) is adventurous. The RB Salzburg attacking player shows himself on Instagram while speed boating and hydrofoil surfing in Ibiza. Friends and relatives will be present, such as FCZ player Alayah Pilgrim (20), who sits with Okafor’s brother Elijah (19).

A national star stays in Switzerland: goalkeeper Jonas Omlin (29) shares a photo with wife Janice and son Lio (2) from Lucerne. “Vacation at home,” he writes. The couple is expecting their second child soon.

Meanwhile, the relaxing vacations of the Nati stars should slowly but surely come to an end. Because most clubs are already starting preparations for the new season these days. (byl)
