The Galician-born climber stopped the clock in 5.3 seconds in the World Speed ​​Cup

Erik Noya he did it again. A climber of Galician origin broke the Spanish speed record in the World Cup held in Villars (Switzerland). In the first race of the qualifying phase, he stopped the clock in 5.30 seconds, surpassing the record he held himself (it was 5.37 seconds).

But the climber’s achievements did not stop there. The achieved time secured him a place in the final, the first time this season that he managed to do so. Fifteen athletes achieved times below 5.30 seconds, which the Galician sealed, and the most important was Vedriqq Leonardo, who achieved a time of 4.97 in his first race.

“A new record in the historical classification, which is the fastest so far. I managed to sneak into the finals (first of the year), and I couldn’t be prouder and happier. We continue to death seeking to improve every detail in order to fulfill the goal,” he wrote on his social networks. “Thank you Sensei (David Macià), because without you none of this would be possible. Thank you for choosing the right words to explain it well and showing me the way,” Noya added.
