She was number 1 for 121 weeks, won three Grand Slams and a total of 15 tournaments with the French Open (2019), Wimbledon (2021) and the Australian Open (2022). Now there’s news from Ashleigh Barty (27), that should trump all of that.
As Garry Kissick, the ex-tennis player’s husband, says on Instagram, the two became parents. “Our beautiful boy,” he writes about a snapshot of the baby. And also reveals his heir’s name: “Welcome to the world, Hayden.”
Barty surprisingly ended her career in March 2022. And that was just two months after the Australian had a home win at the Australian Open for the first time since 1978.
“I am so grateful for everything this sport has given me and say goodbye with pride and satisfaction,” Barty, who retired as number 1, wrote on Instagram.
Moments later, the wedding bells rang. In early July 2022, she tied the knot with Kissick, whom she met in 2016 at the Queensland (Aus) golf course. Now their love will be crowned with the birth of Hayden. (bir)
