Due to unrest in the country: increased alertness at the Tour de France

class=”sc-29f61514-0 jbwksb”>

The 3rd stage of the Tour de France leads from the Spanish to the French Basque Country.

The 3rd stage leads the 110th Tour de France from Spain to Bayonne. This means that the unrest in France is also starting to become an issue.

With the return home, concerns about safety in the Tour de France are growing. The unrest in France could also affect the country’s most important sporting event through the seventh stage, which ends in Bordeaux on Friday. “We are following developments closely and are in constant contact with the Ministry of the Interior,” says tour director Christian Prudhomme.

The travel organization Aso wants to increase safety measures during the stages. These measures were only partially implemented in connection with the riots caused by the death of a 17-year-old by a police bullet during a traffic control. De Aso is also concerned that climate activists could use the race for headline-grabbing actions. There used to be roadblocks all the time. Usually, however, these could be removed before the platoon reached their respective locations. (SDA)
