World record holder Karsten Warholm wins the 400 meters hurdles at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm.

Armand Duplantis celebrates an expected home win at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm. The 23-year-old Swede wins the pole vault with a height of 6.05 m. In an attempt to beat his own February world record by one centimeter at 6.23 m, he failed three times.

Norwegian Karsten Warholm is also the Scandinavian world record holder in the men’s 400 meters hurdles. However, the race is disrupted by a climate protest. Three activists kneel about ten meters from the finish line and stretch two posters across multiple lanes.

Two runners run through the posters, the unaffected Warholm (on the outer lane) wins in wet conditions in 47.57s and remains well above his world record (45.94). “It’s okay to protest, but it’s not the right way,” the world champion told Norwegian radio NRK. Due to the wet and cold weather conditions, top performances were also not achieved in the other disciplines. (SDA/mab)
