A thousand participants, in the Samurai Xtreme Race of As Pontes

As Pontes, near the playground, on Sunday morning will be the scene of a new edition of the Samurai Xtreme Race, an obstacle course that will gather around a thousand athletes in the town of Pontes.

The elite category exam will start at half past ten in the morning, and the participants will have a circular course with 67 obstacles such as fences, puddles, wooden pyramids, walls, mud ditches and many others in a total of ten kilometers. There will also be a test for the junior category and another one for minors, in which athletes from 4 to 13 years of age will participate.

The popular test, which will start around 15:00 to 11:00 in the morning, will have the largest number of responses, close to 850 out of a thousand applicants.

Athletes from Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom or Canada will participate in the elite category trial. The test is scored for the Spanish Championship. In addition, the five winners of the elite groups, both male and female, will qualify to participate in the World Steeplechase Championships to be held in September in California, United States.

The test is an obstacle race that tests the resistance, strength and ability of the contestants, in a test that has natural and artificial obstacles.
