Ambuhl with lightning victory

Lightning start: 1st gear takes only 18 seconds Joel Ambuehl (class 10) against Romain Collaudbefore Central Switzerland wins.

The winner of the Zug Kantonaal, Noe van Messel, still has to wait for his starting game. The curious reason: At first there is no trace of his opponent Michael Müller, only a few minutes later Müller appears in the sawdust. Finally, the corridor ends.

Other wins: Christian shoulder against Erich Fankhauser, Sven Schurtenberger against guest wrestler Mario Schneider, Matthias Herger against Marco Fankhauser and Jonas Burch against Sven Lang. The top couples will follow soon.

Here we go

It starts with the ISAF. The seven chairs are already waving. A little patience is needed for the absolute top pairs.

The top favourites

Staudenmann defeated the king, Joel Wicki, just over a month ago in the final round at the Oberaargau Festival, after a man was caught at the same festival. Will King Wicki fight back today, at home in central Switzerland? The man of 1.83 meters is already the defending champion.

Big names at ISAF

The Central Swiss branch festival in Dagmersellen (ISAF) is the best attended wrestling festival so far this year. Big duels follow as soon as you start swinging. Wrestling king Joel Wicki competes with guest Damian Ott from northeastern Switzerland. Wicki won four festivals this season (with 5 participations). Ott was victorious at two. The duel between the Bernese season champion Fabian Staudenmann – he won five of the five wreath festivals in 2023 – and the second major asset from Central Switzerland, Pirmin Reichmuth, promises a lot of spectacle.

Samuel Giger is missing

After his cancellation of the Northeast Swiss wrestling festival last Sunday, Samuel Giger has to do without the Central Swiss wrestling festival today. That’s what Mario Schneider – just like Giger from the swing club Ottenberg – is for. The division wreath maker won five wreaths this year.

Confederation Adrian Odermatt of the Northwest Swiss Wrestling Association also has to pass due to an injury. Sinisha Lüscher (17) was nominated. Lüscher was at the Solothurn Cantonal Wrestling Festival last Sunday against Nick Alpiger for the first time in a wreath festival.

Good morning swing friends

Today the bad guys are gathering in Dagmersellen. The favourites: Joel Wicki and Bernese guest Fabian Staudenmann. Swinging starts at 07:30. The last course takes place around 5:00 PM. The decor is right: almost 12,500 spectators are expected.
