Third qualifying round reached: Swiss quartet misses win for Wimbledon main draw

Two Swiss and three Swiss women will play in the Wimbledon qualifying match on Wednesday. Four of them do this successfully.

Dominic Stricker (ATP 117) is victorious with 6: 4, 6: 3 against Juan Pablo Ficovich (ATP 243). He hasn’t dropped a set in qualifying so far. One more victory separates him from his first participation in the Wimbledon main draw. He already did that at the French Open – albeit as a lucky loser.

Three Swiss women still have a chance to qualify for the tournament. Céline Naef (WTA 165) against Ashlyn Krueger (WTA 108) and Simona Waltert (WTA 115) against Julia Riera (WTA 150) each win in two sets.

Golubic with difficulty – Riedi out

Viktorija Golubic (WTA 138), on the other hand, shows more commitment. The resident of Zurich gives the starting line against Maiktha Bains (WTA 311), who is 173 ranks lower.
