Since the transfer of Robert Lewandowski (34) to Barcelona last summer, Bayern has been looking for a new top striker. The team from Munich made a first attempt on Harry Kane (29) on Tuesday, while Tottenham Hotspur initially rejected the offer of 70 million. They want at least 100 million francs for their superstar.

According to information from “SportBild” and “The Athletic”, the Englishman and the German record champion should agree that according to media reports, Kane’s brother and father are the contacts for Munich. Now it’s all about the transfer fee – Bayern want to stay under the 100 million mark.

Kane is a captain and superstar for both Tottenham and the national team. He almost always plays from the start and is an integral part of club and national planning. The Englishman has been with Spurs since 2004, a club legend, England record goalscorer. He is just 47 goals short of the record set by Alan Shearer (52), the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer (240). So why does he want to leave London?

Notorious lack of success

The most famous reason for Kane’s long-awaited change is his great desire to finally win a title. Logically he wants to do that with ‘his’ Spurs, but they are known in England – like Fribourg-Gottéron in Swiss ice hockey – as the infamous and eternal second. The club’s last title dates back to 2008 when they won the League Cup. Tottenham were last English champions in 1961.

Kane does not want to go down in history as an unnamed player. Therefore, a transfer to series champions Bayern Munich would certainly make sense. At Säbener Strasse, they also hope that with Kane’s effort they can play for the Champions League title again. And with Spurs failing to qualify for European competitions, a move to a CL club would come as no surprise.

Why not stay in the Premier League?

For a long time, Manchester United was one of the favorites to capture the English super snapper. When the national team was recently brought together, the ManUnited players – especially Luke Shaw (27) – showed their captain the facilities and tried to convince him to switch to the traditional club. Fellow townsman ManCity also showed interest last summer, but then decided, as is known, to capture Erling Haaland (22), which was very worthwhile.
