The Galician footballer posted a video on his social networks showing a series of news and tweets from an unreal world where heterosexuality is a reason for discrimination: «Would this never happen? And why others?”

A few weeks ago, Borja Iglesias and Aitor Ruibal were at the center of embarrassing criticism for attending a wedding with a bag. The Galician striker was flawless then. “Every time situations like this happen related to phobias that still exist, they give me the strength to keep fighting so that everyone can work and enjoy themselves and others as they really want,” he wrote. And it is true that the football player suffered because of the publication of those photos on his networks along with homophobic comments. To those of you who are still in prehistory, I send a lot of encouragement, he said.

A man from Santiago went a step further this Monday and showed his commitment to the campaign for LGTBI pride month. The Betis player continues his fight against all kinds of orientation discrimination. And so he showed it again. Clear and loud. Panda posted an ironic video on his social networks in which he says: “Hello, I’m Borja and I’m straight”.

The video he broadcasted through his social networks shows a series of news and tweets from an unreal world where heterosexuality is a reason for discrimination. «That this would never happen? And why do others?», asks the attacker.

“They don’t attack me for being heterosexual. For this reason, more than ever, #muchoorgullo”, the football player ends his post, sending him off with a rainbow flag and adding figures about the increase in violence against sexual orientation last year. It grew by 70% in 2022.

black nails

Borja Iglesias already became a protagonist in 2020 when he was photographed at Betis training with black painted nails. The player received all kinds of xenophobic and homophobic comments. So much so that the Galician responded thunderously to the criticism that came to him via social networks. “It’s a way of raising awareness and fighting from my position against racism, but I think it’s good for me and against homophobia. Other than that, I have to admit that I like them. The answer received great applause and caused many comments in favor of Compostela.
