Last season, at the age of 16, he made his highly regarded debut with the ZSC Lions. That is now clear Daniel Ustinkov (Picture below) will stay with Zurich for another season. As the Lions write in a press release, he will not be moving to North America just yet. Ustinkov is likely to play in the National League and in the Swiss League. He can also continue to help with the U20 elite.
In addition, the Lions are resting Nicholas Bachler (19), Marlon Graaf (20) and Vincent Rohrer (18) three homegrown players with pro contracts. The three strikers each sign a two-year contract up to and including the 2024/25 season. Bächler and Graf were also used in the National League last season and are also part of the U20 national team. Rohrer was the third round pick for the 2022 Montreal Canadiens and returns to Zurich after two years in Canada’s top junior league OHL.
