“I brought her home,” Mauro Caviezel announces with these words on Instagram that he and his fiancée Nina Bienz have said yes to the registry office.
Caviezel announced the engagement to Blick around his firing in January 2023. Things really got going between the two after Caviezel tore his Achilles tendon in June 2020. “I met her through my injury,” he told the “Schweizer Illustrierte”. However, he has not revealed in what form the pair first met. But getting to know each other made it clear to him: “Luck and happiness go hand in hand – somewhere you are unlucky, then lucky again.”
Ms. Nina assisted Caviezel in the complicated final phase of his career. After tearing his Achilles tendon, he fought back before crashing at Garmisch in January 2021 during Super-G practice. He suffered a severe concussion and suffered from visual disturbances for about a year.
At the end of November 2022, he returned to the World Cup after an interruption of more than a year and a half. In the Super-G, however, he fell heavily again, resulting in craniocerebral trauma. Just over a month later, Caviezel announced his resignation. (dti)
