Racing driver Mick Schumacher (24) is getting back into his father’s car – the Mercedes reserve driver will be behind the wheel of the W02 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 14-16) in England. His father and record world champion Michael Schumacher drove the Mercedes car in Formula 1 in 2011.
“It will be spectacular to drive my dad’s 2011 car, the W02, even if it’s just a short drive. Just experiencing this generation of cars will be mega,” Schumacher said: “Knowing he drove this car makes it very special and it will bring a lot of emotions.”
Schumacher has driven many of his father’s racing cars, but never a Silver Arrow. “I’ve been lucky enough to drive one of his Benetton cars and some of his Ferraris, but this will be my first time behind the wheel of a Mercedes he has driven,” he said. “I’m sure I’ll leave with a big smile on my face.” (AFP)
