Author: Luis de la Mata

Following the renewal of Óscar Gilsanz as coach, the branch continues to outline its project to take on a demanding new season in the Second Federation

At the end of April, Fabril confirmed his promotion to the Second League after a fantastic year in which he took first place from the start of the league. The club therefore opted for continuity, with the change of coach Óscar Gilsanz and the confirmation of most of the players. This is the plan of the second blue-white team, for the 2023-2024 season:

gatekeepers

His position on the left side of the second team will be replaced by the U18 international Manu Berrocal (Now, 2005), who has a contract until 2025 and will be in the dynamics of the branch, with a youth license, in the style of Diego Gómez and Martín Ochoa el last course .

Barcia, to the first team

Dani Barcia (Cambre, 2003) has extended his contract for another year, until 2024, thanks to a clause that obliges the club to make him a first league record. If Dépor wants to send him on loan or convince him to play for Fabril, it would be through a renewal, which is pending.

Pereira is a year older

Álex Pereira (Barcelona, 2002) comes after a year complicated by injuries. He has a contract in force until 2024.

Fito terminates the contract

Like Currás, Fito (Arteixo, 2002) ends his contract on June 30 after a year with few minutes left.

Deportivo released their 18-man roster this Monday, as the basis of the squad for the 2023-2024 season, and it included several young players from the generation of 2004 who have already been promoted to Fabril. This is the case of Quique Tei, Diego Gómez, Martín Ochoa and Rubén López. There are no others on that list who have completed the youth phase, such as goalkeepers Hugo Lemos and Xavi, central defenders Seydi Mendes and Evan, and forwards Garaboa (going to San Tirso) and Hugo Baldomaro. The latter had already said goodbye on social media weeks before, ending a decade in Abegond. The club qualified that the list could undergo changes, “waiting for two movements that could produce players to face the first team or from the youth to Fabril himself.”
