Great success of participation and organization. This is how we can summarize the celebration of the seventh edition of the Galician Sports Management Congress held this Saturday in Santiago de Compostela. The event was organized by the Galician Association of Sports Management (Agaxede), chaired by Eduardo Blanco Pereira, and is part of the 25th anniversary of this entity.. The General Secretariat for Sports, the Foundation for Youth Sports and the Spanish Olympic Committee also collaborated. This activity was made possible by the companies BeOne, Gadis, Mondo and Plaam.
About a hundred people, including students, managers and athletes, registered for the congress, the focus of which in this edition was the management of sports clubs.. They are the original organizational structure of modern sports and, together with federations, foundations and other sports associations, form the so-called the third sector of sports. This non-profit sector needs a stop on the way to analyze and reflect on its present and future. That is why the content of this edition entitled “Problems and Challenges of Sports Clubs” resulted from open participation in the most important issues that they have to undertake.
The theme arose from suggestions received from a questionnaire sent through the General Secretariat for Sport to all Galician clubs earlier this year.
The teachers who participated in the congress were: Francisco Cacharro Gosendechief coordinator of the municipal administration of the City Council of Ourense, Jose Maria Cabrera Dominguezdirector of the Next Generation Funds of the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Trade of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manel Valcarce TorrentePresident of the Management Board of the sports consulting company Valgo Investment i Alfonso Sanz Clavijo, professor of financial and tax law at the University of Cádiz. A round table was also held in which 3 Galician clubs participated (Football Club Pontevedra, Fluvial Triathlon and BKC of the Planas brothers), and it was led by Iván Clavel San Emeterio, manager of the Galician Sports Foundation.
At the end of the congress, the annual assembly of Agaxede was held, where the annual accounts and calendar of activities were approved.
