Because the airstrip in Andorra is so short that only small planes can land, players and staff fly from Milan (I) by private jets to the principality in the Pyrenees. How was the journey? “Very pleasant,” says trainer Murat Yakin, who flew with the staff.

Game is not sold out

“We Will Be Challenged”

And what does Yakin expect from an opponent? “They will fight and run a lot. If you look at their results, they’ve always been close games. We will be challenged.”

Switzerland participated in the World Cup qualifiers in Andorra seven years ago. At that point there was a narrow 2:1 victory. Ricardo Rodriguez: “It won’t be easy again, we have to be focused and patient.” He is happy that the artificial grass in the stadium has now been replaced by natural grass. “That suits us.”
