Three months ago, a call went out to the entire sports world. Norwegian biathlon talent Eivind Sporaland was gone. There was an intensive search for him in Lillehammer. And now the search seems to be coming to a sad end.
The police found a body. According to the evidence, it should be about the missing person.
The responsible police officer Ragnhild Ouren tells the daily newspaper “Dagbladet”: “The autopsy has yet to be performed, until then we don’t know for sure. But the indications indicate that it is Sporaland.”
The police so far assume that the biathlete is still alive. That hope may now have been dashed.
The 22-year-old disappeared without a trace on March 19. Before that, he talked to his father. He said Sporaland suffered from mental health problems and had consulted a doctor the day before the disappearance. For a long time he was searched for in the forest near Lillehammer. (nsa)
